Booking Terms
How booking works on Bus Voyage, who is responsible for the trip and payment, and the limits of Bus Voyage’s liability.
Bus Voyage ("Bus Voyage", "the Platform", "we") is an information service for searching and comparing bus and other routes. By using the site and submitting a booking, you agree to the terms below. Please read them carefully before proceeding — they directly determine who is responsible for what during your trip.
1. Definitions
"Platform" means the Bus Voyage website and services. "Carrier" means the bus, air or other transport company that actually operates the trip. "Partner" means a carrier or other company that Bus Voyage works with on a referral (affiliate) basis. "User" means anyone using the Platform to search, compare or submit a booking request.
2. What Bus Voyage is — and is not
Bus Voyage is a metasearch and information platform. We gather and display schedules, prices and routes from different carriers in one place so you can compare options more easily. Bus Voyage is not a carrier, tour operator, travel agency or payment provider; we do not operate vehicles, employ drivers, or act as a party to the contract of carriage between you and the carrier. Our role is limited to providing information and, depending on the route, either accepting a booking request or redirecting you to the carrier’s own website. Details and contact information for the carrier operating your trip are listed on the carrier’s page on our site.
3. How booking works
Depending on the route, one of two processes applies — check the booking page for which one applies to your trip.
Routes operated by our carriers
Clicking "Book" submits a booking request, which is stored on the Platform and forwarded to the carrier for confirmation. This is not an instant or guaranteed reservation — the carrier must confirm it. We will contact you by the email or phone you provided regarding the status of your request.
Partner routes
The "Book with partner" button takes you to the partner carrier’s own website — booking and payment happen there, entirely outside the Platform. Bus Voyage only compares carrier offers; the partner is responsible for issuing and selling the ticket, and any questions about that booking should go to them.
4. Payment
Bus Voyage does not accept, process or hold payment for tickets in any form. Payment is made directly to the carrier: on board when boarding (cash or card, depending on what the specific carrier accepts) for routes operated by our carriers, or on the partner’s website for partner routes. Bus Voyage has no access to your payment details and is not responsible for the processing, refusal or refund of any payment made to a carrier or partner.
5. Confirmation and booking reference
The reference number you receive after submitting a request is an internal reference for correspondence with us and the carrier — it is not a ticket and not proof of travel. A seat is only guaranteed once the carrier has explicitly confirmed it. We recommend confirming with the carrier ahead of time, especially if you have not received confirmation within a reasonable period before departure.
6. Passenger responsibilities
By submitting a booking request, you agree to:
- provide accurate and up-to-date information about yourself and any other passengers;
- check with the carrier directly what documents are required (passport, visa, documents for minors) for your specific route and any border crossing;
- arrive at the departure point in good time — arriving late may mean losing your seat with no right to a refund;
- check the carrier’s own rules on baggage, pets and oversized items;
- not treat a submitted request as a guarantee of travel until the carrier has confirmed it.
7. Changes, cancellation and refunds
Because Bus Voyage does not accept payment, we cannot issue refunds ourselves — this is handled by the carrier under its own rules. For partner routes, contact the partner directly on whose website the booking was made. For routes operated by our carriers, contact us using the details below and we will forward your request to the carrier; the carrier makes the final decision (refund, exchange, refusal), and Bus Voyage cannot guarantee or promise a specific outcome. No-show and late-cancellation terms are set solely by the carrier’s own policy.
Please note: under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Art. 16(l)), passenger transport services are excluded from the standard 14-day consumer right of withdrawal for distance contracts. Submitting a booking request does not, by itself, grant an unconditional right to cancel — cancellation is governed solely by the carrier’s own rules described above.
8. Carrier responsibility
Everything directly related to the trip — departure and arrival times, delays, cancellation or changes to the route, quality of service, safety, condition of the vehicle, the conduct of the driver and staff, and loss of or damage to baggage — is the responsibility of the carrier operating the trip. Any complaint on these matters should be directed to the carrier; seat availability and any compensation for delays or cancellations are governed by the carrier’s own rules and applicable passenger-rights law.
9. Limitation of Bus Voyage’s liability
Bus Voyage takes reasonable steps to keep the information shown (schedules, prices, availability) accurate, but this information comes from carriers and third parties and we cannot guarantee it is fully up to date at the time of booking. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bus Voyage is not liable for:
- inaccurate, outdated or changed schedules, prices or other trip information supplied by carriers;
- delay, cancellation, route changes or denied boarding by a carrier;
- loss, damage or delay of baggage;
- any harm caused by the acts or omissions of a carrier, its staff, or third parties;
- indirect losses (lost profit, disrupted plans, additional costs due to a missed connection).
Nothing in this section excludes or limits Bus Voyage’s liability where applicable law does not permit such exclusion or limitation — in particular for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury.
10. Force majeure
Bus Voyage is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations caused by circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Bus Voyage or the carrier — including natural disasters, strikes, actions of public authorities, armed conflict, epidemics, or failure of communication or infrastructure networks.
11. Intellectual property and use of the site
The Platform’s content (design, text, logo, software) belongs to Bus Voyage or is used lawfully and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. Copying, automated data scraping, or any other use of the Platform that could disrupt its operation or infringe third-party rights is prohibited.
12. Affiliate disclosure
Bus Voyage may receive compensation from carriers and partners for user click-throughs or confirmed bookings. This does not increase the price you pay and does not affect how results are ranked in a way that hides better options. Sponsored content on the site is labelled as such.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, together with the date it was last updated. Continuing to use the Platform after changes are published means you accept the updated version.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law applicable to Bus Voyage’s place of business, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection law of your place of residence that applies regardless of choice of law.
