Privacy Policy
What data Bus Voyage collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can manage it.
This policy explains what personal data Bus Voyage collects and processes when you use the site, submit a booking request, or contact us, and what rights you have over that data.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The Bus Voyage team acts as the data controller. For any questions about how your personal data is processed, including requests to access, correct or delete it, contact [email protected].
2. What data we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Account data — name, email or phone, password (stored as an irreversible hash), and profile data received when you sign in with Google (name, email, photo).
- Booking data — contact details (name, phone, email) and passenger data (first and last name and date of birth) that you provide when submitting a request.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, interface language and currency, pages visited, and cookie usage (see the Cookie Policy for details).
- Correspondence — messages you send us through our contact channels or support form.
3. Why we use your data and on what basis
We process data for the following purposes:
- submitting and forwarding a booking request to the carrier — to perform the service you requested;
- operating your account and signing in via email/password or Google — to perform our contract with you for use of the service;
- keeping the site secure, preventing abuse, and providing technical support — based on Bus Voyage’s legitimate interest;
- improving the service and analysing site usage — based on legitimate interest or your consent where applicable law requires it.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. Data may be shared with the following recipients, only to the extent needed for the relevant purpose:
- The carrier operating your trip — booking and passenger data, including your contact phone number, passed to them when the booking is submitted and confirmed.
- Our hosting provider, on whose servers the platform and database run (Contabo GmbH, Germany).
- Our image storage and CDN provider (Cloudflare) — for images uploaded to the platform.
- Google — when you sign in with a Google account, to the extent needed for authentication.
5. International data transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the European Union and the United States. In such cases we rely on the contractual and technical safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
6. Data retention
Booking and correspondence data is kept for as long as necessary to complete the trip, resolve any disputes, and meet applicable recordkeeping requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Account data is kept while your account is active; you can request its deletion at any time.
7. Your rights
Regarding your personal data, you have the right to:
- request access to the data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of data once it no longer needs to be kept by law;
- restrict or object to certain kinds of processing;
- receive your data in a structured format (data portability);
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting anything already done on that basis;
- lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your place of residence.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
8. Cookies
The site uses cookies to run sessions, remember your language and currency, and for analytics. See the separate Cookie Policy for details.
9. Children’s data
The Platform is not intended for independent use by children under 16. Data for child passengers is provided by their legal guardian as part of a shared booking request.
10. Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data from unauthorised access, including encrypted connections and restricted access to sensitive data. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we are not liable for incidents that occur through no fault of ours.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, together with the date it was last updated.
12. Contact
For questions about how your personal data is processed, contact: [email protected].
